Privacy Policy
My Daily Prayer Journal: Bible ("the app", "we") is a nightly prayer, journaling and Bible reading app. This policy explains what the app collects, why, who it is shared with, and how to delete it. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
1. What stays on your phone
Your journal answers, reflections, prayers, reading progress, notes and highlights, your village and your Manna are stored on your device. If iCloud is on, the app also keeps a backup copy in your own private iCloud account so it survives a reinstall or a new phone. We cannot read your iCloud data.
2. Prayer Circle (optional)
If you open Prayer Circle to pray with friends, the app creates an anonymous account for you. There is no email or password. We then store on our servers (Supabase, hosted in Singapore):
- an anonymous account ID and the display name you choose;
- your avatar, character and village, so friends can see them;
- what you choose to share: prayer requests, one-line reflections, reactions, prayers for friends and plan progress in plans you read together;
- who is in your circle, and anyone you block or report;
- a push notification token, if you allow notifications, so friends can nudge you or tell you they prayed for you.
Only people who joined your circle with a code can see what you share. There is no public directory or profile. Posts are checked by a word filter before they are sent, and every shared item can be reported or blocked.
3. Analytics
We use PostHog (United States) to understand how the app is used, for example which steps of onboarding people finish and whether nights get completed. It receives app events, a random user ID, the name you enter, the goals you pick during onboarding and your approximate location (country or city), which PostHog estimates from your IP address. We use this only to improve the app.
4. Subscriptions
Purchases are made through Apple. We never see your card or payment details. Superwall (United States) shows the subscription screen and receives your user ID, the name and goals you entered (to personalise the screen) and your purchase status.
5. What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your data.
- We do not show ads or share data with advertisers.
- We do not use the microphone, camera, contacts or precise location.
6. Sensitive information
Prayers and reflections can reveal your faith and things you are going through. Data on your phone and in iCloud stays yours. Data you share in Prayer Circle is visible only to your circle, and you can delete it at any time (see below).
7. Deleting your data
- Prayer Circle: Settings > Prayer Circle > "Leave and delete my circle account" deletes your account and everything you shared from our servers.
- Journal and progress: delete the app to remove data on the phone, and remove the app's data from Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Storage to remove the iCloud copy.
- Analytics: email us and we will delete your analytics data.
8. How long we keep it
Prayer Circle data is kept until you delete it or your circle account. Analytics events are kept for up to two years.
9. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has used Prayer Circle, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or Singapore's PDPA), you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data. Email us and we will reply within 30 days.
11. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
